Party games that respect your privacy
Effective date: 10 August 2026Game Jester is a mobile party game application developed by Duothink Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Scotland (company number SC886148). Game Jester is a collection of party games designed to be played by people in the same room — some using Bluetooth between phones, many needing nothing but the rules.
Duothink Ltd is the data controller for any personal data processed through Game Jester. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, you can contact us at:

Game Jester is designed to keep your data on your device. We do not operate user accounts, we do not ask for your email address or phone number, and we have no server that stores your gameplay. The sections below describe everything the app does with data.
The following never leaves your phone. It is stored in the app's local storage and is removed when you delete the app.
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Player name or nickname (and initials) | Identifying players during a game |
| Game preferences (sound, vibration, settings) | Remembering how you like to play |
| Scores, practice times and progress | Tracking your results between sessions |
| Which audio and video clips you have already seen | Avoiding repeats in commentary-based games |
| A randomly generated app identifier | Restoring your purchases (see section 2.4) |
The app identifier is a random value generated on your device the first time you open the app. It is not your device ID, advertising ID, or any identifier that can be linked to you personally or followed across other apps.
Several games connect phones directly to each other using Bluetooth Low Energy. There is no server involved — your phone talks only to the other phones in the room.
During these games your phone broadcasts a short player name (up to five characters) and small packets of game state, such as your score or whether you have taken your turn. This is visible to nearby devices running Game Jester for as long as the game is running, and is not stored by us or by anyone else.
Two games use the camera: Freeze detects whether players are moving, and Thumb Wars detects thumbs up and thumbs down. Both use Google ML Kit Pose Detection running entirely on your device.
Camera frames are analysed in your phone's memory and discarded immediately. They are never saved to your device, never uploaded, and never shared. The app detects body and hand positions only — it does not identify who you are, and it does not analyse faces.
The camera is used only while one of these two games is actually running. You can decline the camera permission and still play every other game in the app.
Optional game packs can be bought inside the app. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see or receive your card details, billing address or payment information.
We use RevenueCat to record which packs you have bought so that your purchases can be restored on a new device. RevenueCat receives the random app identifier described in section 2.1 and details of the purchase itself. It does not receive your name, email address or any advertising identifier.
Game Jester shows banner adverts, supplied by Google AdMob. Adverts are limited to general-audience (G-rated) content. Buying any game pack that includes ad removal will stop them.
AdMob may collect information such as your IP address, general device information, diagnostic and performance data (including crash and performance reports generated by the advertising SDK itself), product interaction data, and an advertising identifier in order to serve and measure adverts. On iOS, the app asks for your permission before any tracking across other apps and websites takes place, using Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, no advertising identifier is shared and you will see non-personalised adverts instead. You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings, or in the app's own Settings screen.
Google's own privacy policy explains how AdMob handles this data: policies.google.com/privacy
Some games download question packs and other content from our servers at packs.gamejester.app. Like any web request, this involves your device's IP address reaching our hosting provider (Cloudflare), which keeps standard short-lived server logs. We do not use these requests to build a profile of you, and they carry no player name, identifier or gameplay data.
Game Jester does not collect, process, store or transmit face data of any kind. The app does not use Apple's TrueDepth API, does not perform facial recognition or face matching, and does not create, derive or store face geometry, face landmarks, face templates, face scans or any other biometric identifier.
We also do not collect any of the following:
We do not add analytics or crash-reporting tools of our own, and we receive no analytics about how you play. The Google AdMob advertising SDK does collect diagnostic information of its own — crash data, performance data and other diagnostics — as described in section 2.5. This is reflected in the privacy disclosure on our App Store listing.
We use the limited data described above only to make the games work: showing player names during a game, remembering your settings and scores, restoring purchases you have made, and displaying adverts to players who have not bought an ad-free pack.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data to train machine learning models, and we do not license it to anyone.
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Other players in the room | Your short player name and game state, over Bluetooth | To play multiplayer games |
| Apple / Google | Payment details you enter with them directly | Processing purchases |
| RevenueCat | Random app identifier and purchase records | Restoring purchases across devices |
| Google AdMob | IP address, device information, advertising identifier (only with your consent on iOS) | Serving and measuring adverts |
| Cloudflare | IP address in standard server logs | Hosting downloadable game content |
We share data with nobody else. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we will only disclose data if legally required to do so.
| Permission | Why it is needed | Optional? |
|---|---|---|
| Bluetooth | Connecting to other phones for proximity games | Only needed for those games |
| Camera | Motion and hand detection in Freeze and Thumb Wars | Yes — every other game works without it |
| Location (Android) | Required by Android for Bluetooth scanning on some versions | Only needed for proximity games |
| Tracking (iOS) | Personalised adverts | Yes — decline and you get non-personalised adverts |
The app does not request microphone access.
Because almost everything stays on your device, there is very little data to secure elsewhere. Data on your phone is protected by your device's own security and the operating system's app sandbox. Content downloads and purchase communication use encrypted HTTPS connections.
Bluetooth game traffic is short-range and only meaningful to other copies of Game Jester. It contains nothing sensitive — a short player name and game state.
Data stored on your device stays there until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Bluetooth game data exists only for the length of a game and is never written to storage. Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat, Apple and Google for as long as needed to honour restore requests and meet their own legal obligations.
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability.
Because we hold almost nothing about you, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device: your data is in your hands, and deleting the app deletes it. For anything held by RevenueCat, Apple, Google or Cloudflare, contact us at privacy@gamejester.app and we will help.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we do not collect biometric identifiers, health data or precise location. California residents, and residents of other US states with comparable laws, may request access to or deletion of any personal information we hold by writing to privacy@gamejester.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Game Jester is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Adverts shown in the app are restricted to general-audience (G-rated) content.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@gamejester.app and we will remove it.
Clearing your player name, scores and settings is done in the app's Settings screen. Deleting the app from your phone removes everything stored locally.
To ask about data held by our third-party providers, email privacy@gamejester.app. To withdraw camera or tracking consent, use your device's system settings for Game Jester.
Our third-party providers — RevenueCat, Google and Cloudflare — operate internationally and may process data outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. These transfers rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we handle your data will also be announced in the app.
